SRNT's Annual and Triennnial Awards
- Honors SRNT members who have made extraordinary contributions to the field of nicotine and tobacco research within 7 years of receiving their terminal degree. Pre-clinical researchers will be considered for such contributions within 10 years of receiving their terminal degree in recognition of the time it takes for researchers working in this unique discipline to achieve independence and impact on the field.
- The recipient will receive a plaque, waived 2026 conference registration, and a $500 honorarium to help offset travel expenses to the annual meeting and the opportunity to present a lecture on their research.
- Honors SRNT members who have made outstanding contributions to public health and minoritized communities through health disparities research.
- The recipient will receive a plaque, waived 2026 conference registration, and a $500 honorarium to help offset travel expenses to the annual meeting.
- Honors SRNT members living and working in a low- or middle-income country and have made outstanding contributions to the field of nicotine and tobacco research, cessation, public health or tobacco control.
- The recipient will receive a plaque, waived 2026 conference registration, and a $500 honorarium to help offset travel expenses to the annual meeting.
- Honors SRNT members who have made outstanding contributions to public health and tobacco control through science-based public policy and public advocacy.
- The recipient will receive a plaque, waived 2026 conference registration, and a $500 honorarium to help offset travel expenses to the annual meeting.
- Honors scientists who have made groundbreaking advances in clinical research in one of three areas:
- The pharmacological and behavioral actions of nicotine
- Increased understanding on why people use tobacco
- Interventions to prevent tobacco use, to encourage or help tobacco users stop, and/or to reduce the adverse effects of tobacco use.
- Honors scientists who have made groundbreaking advances in clinical research in one of three areas:
- The award consists of a $2000 prize, a plaque and an expense-paid trip to the the annual meeting to present a plenary lecture on the awardee’s research.
Doll-Wynder Award (2026, 2029, 2032)
Honors scientists who have made groundbreaking advances in public health, public policy or epidemiological research.
The award consists of a $2,000 prize, a plaque and an expense-paid trip to the SRNT Annual Meeting to present a plenary lecture of the awardee’s research.
Langley Award for Basic Research on Nicotine an Tobacco (2027, 2030, 2033)
Honors scientists who have made groundbreaking advances in basic nicotine research in the areas of pharmacology, neuroscience and/or genetics.
The award consists of a $2,000 prize, a plaque and an expense-paid trip to the SRNT Annual Meeting to present a plenary lecture of the awardee’s research.
Award Nomination Information
Detailed nomination requirements, eligibility criteria, required supporting documents, submission instructions, and deadlines are established for each award cycle and may change from year to year.
