Core Organizational Values
In August of 2023, the SRNT Board of Directors began a months-long discussion about changes
taking place in the field of nicotine and tobacco research that are impacting SRNT. Those
discussions prompted the Board to consider how to address divisions in the field that were having a
direct, negative impact on SRNT. The solution was to codify Core Organizational Values, endorsed
by the membership, which would inform discussions and provide transparency around decisions
made about difficult issues. Along the way, the Board also identified three goals shared in common
by our member researchers:
1. To Advance Science
2. To Improve Health
3. To Save Lives
