The mission of the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco, Inc. (the "Society") shall be to stimulate the generation of new knowledge concerning nicotine in all its manifestations from molecular to societal.
Full - confers the privileges of voting and holding elective office. Requirements include evidence of scientific training beyond the undergraduate level and at least one peer-reviewed publication on nicotine, tobacco-control, or a related topic.
Affiliate - for people who do not meet the criteria for Full membership Requirements include documented interest in some aspect of research on nicotine or tobacco-control (e.g., scientific, clinical, public health, policy, regulatory, legislative, and/or advocacy).
Retired - Retired membership is for people who have retired from full-time paid employment and who otherwise meet the criteria for “full” membership. Retirees engaging in part-time consulting work or part-time paid employment, totaling no more than 20 hours per week, are eligible for retired member status. Retired members pay a reduced membership fee and enjoy all rights of full membership. Enrollment for retired membership will begin November 1, 2004.
Student - for people who are enrolled in a full-time training program in a relevant field. To maintain student membership, students/trainees are required to submit verification of full-time student or post-doctoral training status each year with their membership renewal form.
